Bush Medijina harvest local bush produce and combine it with natural and sustainable Australian ingredients. A social enterprise run by women, to empower women on Groote Eylandt, an island 50km from the Northern Territory mainland, in the Gulf of Carpentaria. It is owned by the Warnindhilyagwa people who speak the Anindilyakwa language.
Bush Medijina began in a small shed, fueled by a big dream: to create a business that supported Warningakalina women, to share their culture with others, and to preserve their traditions and knowledge for future generations. Using recipes passed down by their mothers, aunties and grandmothers, Warningakalina women hand-make all products which include native botanicals such as Peach Myrtle, Tea tree, Paperbark, Native Sandalwood, Kaolin Clay and more.
